  • About This Program

Poetry has the uncanny ability to help us channel our emotions and write our futures, while also honoring the past. It is a way to help us transform our circumstances and experiences, which are major themes in the book Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi. In this interactive workshop, participants engage in writing exercises, discussion, and techniques that channel their high moments, reflect on their challenges, and find connections to family and legacy. This workshop is led by Rock Hill, SC Poet Laureate, Angelo Geter.

This program is made possible by the generous support of the National Endowment of the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest.
