The Blackhawk Quintet
The Blackhawk Quintet is a Charlotte-based, modern hard-bop jazz group co-led by tenor saxophonist Elijah Freeman and trumpeter Ariel Mejia. The group brings authentic 1950s and 1960s straight-ahead jazz, bebop, and soul-infused acoustic music to local venues like Middle C Jazz and the Dilworth Tasting Room.
