A Journey Through Grace with Reverend Reginald Tuggle

Join us for an evening with the author of A Journey Through Grace, a memoir by Reverend Reginald Tuggle. The author will discuss his life's trajectory from adversity to much-lauded member of the Charlotte Community, followed by a question-and-answer session. This event is free and open to the public.

A Journey Through Grace is an inspiring story detailing one man's redemptive and grace-filled journey out of the grim and limiting depths of poverty and loss.

As a child in Denver, Colorado, Reggie Tuggle faced extreme poverty and unexpected circumstances, such as living in an attic for nine years with his mother and later as a single parent of two daughters after the death of his wife. His journey was tumultuous, filled with highs and lows, yet expertly scripted by the Creator.

By the grace of God, he:

• Found his father after a 40-year search
• Avoided executing a plot to kill his stepfather
• Led a church to grow from 40 members to 1,000 members
• Founded a charter school that now has more than 7000 students
• Traveled to more than 50 countries around the world

Rev. Reginald Tuggle served as pastor at Memorial Presbyterian Church in Roosevelt, New York for 38 years. During this time, he watched the church grow from less than 50 members to more than 1,000, and as the church grew so did the annual giving total. He was also able to run a capital campaign that raised a million dollars, all of which was given in addition to normal Sunday tithing.

Tuggle also co-founded the Roosevelt Charter School as a K-3 school that has grown in the 20 years since it began to house grades K-8. He was also the president for two non-profit organizations which successfully raised funds for youth services and economic development.

Having received a bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Bishop College, he went on to earn his Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary and a master's degree from Yale.
