Unmasked: The Tipping Point

  • About This Program

Join the second half of May's Unmasked conversation, as we are joined again by some of our region's most engaged social justice leaders.

The second part of May's crucial conversation focuses on how this current era of highly documented police violence heightened by a global pandemic has been a catalyst in a multi-decade and even multi-century issue. As we reflect on how the past year has been a turning point, we analyze how it has also pushed our community beyond a certain capacity, forcing us to deal with issues that before bubbled just below the surface. We again tackle the central question: what is the real impact? Has this era of social media and amplified digital access done more to help educate the masses or desensitize many into tuning out a fatally pressing issue?

We welcome back Ohavia Phillips as our moderator, joined by attorney and CNN political analyst Bakari Sellers, among other activists and scholars to discuss the meaning of sustainability in the fight for justice and its impact.
