About This Program
The Disappearance of Miss Scott chronicles Hazel Scott's meteoric rise as a jazz talent and major Hollywood star before being blacklisted during the "Red Scare."
The screening is presented in partnership with Independent Picture House and the Gantt Center, highlighting the exhibition Jazz Greats: Classic Photographs from the Bank of America Collection.
A performance response will take place immediately following the screening.
