  • About This Program

This month we look at a different approach to gentrification. Buy Back the Block explores the way black people in their 20s - 40s are actively combatting gentrification by purchasing homes/real estate in historically black neighborhoods. Attendees are asked to share their stories, purchasing tips, and plans for continuing to build community. A Q&A with the audience will follow the talk, along with a resource fair.

Our Talk About it series seeks to have community conversations around issues related to our exhibitions as well as our Initiative for Equity and Innovation. Outside of conversation we offer an opportunity to connect with agencies and non-profit organizations that provide information or services related to that month’s topic.
