  • About This Program

Join us for the opening of Beyond Boundaries: Black Abstraction in the Elliot and Kimberly Perry Art Collection, a celebration centered on the expansiveness and resonance of Black abstraction.

Beyond Boundaries underscores the importance of Black non-representational art, situating it within a broader lineage of artistic innovation and self-definition. For nearly three decades, Elliot and Kimberly Perry's collecting vision has evolved from an early emphasis on figuration to a sustained engagement with contemporary abstraction, reflecting a deeper recognition of abstract art as a vital space for experimentation, expression, and cultural memory.

Featured across all galleries of the Gantt, this exhibition brings together works spanning generations. Beyond Boundaries reveals a continuum of practices in which material, gesture, and color give shape to histories that exceed the limits of traditional representation.

We look forward to celebrating with you at the Gantt!
