  • About The Show

The August installment showcases originally produced live music from some of Charlotte's brightest creatives, with an outdoor performance from the musical A WALK IN MY SHOES. The play's composer, playwright, and director, Jermaine Nakia Lee, along with a talented cast of vocalists, present R&B, hip-hop, jazz, and gospel performances from this musical production. A WALK IN MY SHOES will be presented as a concert and narrated as it would unfold in a fully staged production.

A WALK IN MY SHOES is the tumultuous tale of four best friends grappling with the complexities of adulthood. Secrets will be revealed. Their indelible bond will be tested. Nothing will ever be the same.

This urban musical calls attention to the complex challenges faced by many youth today; the production explores themes of friendship, addiction, resiliency, and choices with consequences.
