    Using our exhibitions as inspiration, come flex your creative muscles through writing!

    After exploring Welcome to Brookhill and A Woman’s Work teaching artist Colena Corbett will guide students through writing exercises that will help them determine their unique voice.  Students will complete a skit, poem, short story, or other written work.

  • About The Author

    Colena Corbett is a teacher, writing-artist-creative, screenwriter and occasional actress. She writes short fiction about the impact of art on the human experience and as an arts enthusiast, particularly enjoys the work of masters John Biggers, Ernest Crichlow, Elizabeth Catlett, and Lois Mailou Jones, and contemporary artists Monique Luck and Kehinde Wiley. Corbett earned an MFA in creative writing from the University of South Carolina and holds a degree in media studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
