  • About This Program

Perfect for teens and adults, this workshop will take inspiration from multidisciplinary artist Adam Pendleton, who employs mainly text, paint, and collage to review culture and social resistance.

Led by artist Makayla Binter, participants will use pages of a book to create a new work of art based on their unique expression methods. While in this workshop, we will select key words and phrases within the book's pages to be omitted, drawn-out, circled, or emphasized for a final artistic piece. This workshop will help participants to learn the skills of creative writing, painting, sketching and collaging for a mixed media art experience. Although all ages and experience levels are welcome, this workshop will be targeted more towards teenagers and adults. The images below are examples of a potential final product:

Please note: masks are required to be worn during this workshop.
