  • About This Program

Take a break, bring a friend, and join us for an inspiring midday experience where art meets the open road ... for free!

Led by a Gantt Center docent, this free tour invites you to explore themes of freedom, identity, and discovery as seen through the lens of Black motorcycle riders by artist photographer Alvin C. Jacobs. Make the most of your lunch hour with a free, thirty-minute guided tour exploring September's theme, "Open Lens, Open Road," inspired by the Gantt's current exhibition, Black Behind Bars: The Untold Story of Black Biker Culture.

During the tour, reflect on how the camera becomes a vehicle for truth, memory, and community, illuminating a culture that has often been misunderstood or overlooked. Whether you're new to the subject or a longtime rider yourself, this tour offers a fresh perspective on what it means to move freely in a world that doesn't always see you clearly.
