The Harvey B. Gantt Center honors the life and legacy of distinguished playwright, poet, and thespian Ruth Sloane, whose creative spirit and contributions have left a lasting imprint on the Charlotte region and beyond. The Gantt Center was privileged to collaborate with her on several occasions, most recently during the Gantt Golden Year, including the National Endowment for the Arts’ “Big Read” program and Sloane’s “Ghana: Photographic and Poetic Reflections.”
