    The Gantt Center continues its weekly Sunday Summer Series.

    Learn the fundamentals of New York style Salsa dancing! Jennifer will start each class with a warm-up before introducing the basic steps for Salsa and partner work. You will explore the cultural history of Salsa music and learn how to apply these tips and techniques when you’re out dancing socially.

    About the Artist

    Jennifer Geyer is a founding member and owner of Rumbao Latin Dance Company based in Charlotte, NC. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from Davidson College and is currently completing her Master's degree in Business Administration from Queen's University. Jennifer is certified by the Texas Association of Salsa Instructors under Tito Ortos' certification program and is a proud member of Movimentos de Samba Brazilian Dance Company since 2010. Recently, she was selected to perform Samba in New York at Radio City Music Hall for NBC's 2016 Upfront.

    Jennifer has been dancing Salsa for seven years and has grown to be one of the top Salseras in the Southeast. She won the Southeast Salsa Open in 2015 with her partner Eduardo Diaz and as a result participated in the 2015 World Salsa Open in Puerto Rico. She was voted 2nd as the Favorite Social dancer in the country for the 2015 Party Rock Chicago contest. Jennifer has successfully led her team to consistently provide quality performances and Latin Dance instruction in the Charlotte region. She is excited to share her passion for Salsa with Gantt Center patrons!
