  • About This Program

Come for fun! Led by Melissa McDaniel, here’s an opportunity to learn contemporary jazz choreography which combines traditional jazz techniques with elements of modern dance. Jazz dancing showcases a dancer's individual style and originality and grew out of the African-American vernacular dances of the late-1800s to mid-1900s. The dance form is energetic and fun, consisting of unique moves, fancy footwork, big leaps and quick turns. All of the movements share common roots, namely tap, ballet, jazz music and African-American rhythms and dance.

Please note, workshop space is limited.
