  • About This Program

During this six (6) step workshop, guests are invited to explore Amber's process of deconstruction/reconstruction in the studio. The workshop begins with an analysis of received and collected objects. Next, we explore the deconstruction of these objects. How can we take them apart? Making a plan is an important next step to know how to effectively move forward. Reconstruction is the moment to explore how we can then assemble these pieces back together in a new form. We will end with a critique of the new work in progress and, lastly, a discussion led by the artist in the Quilts and Social Fabric exhibit in Gallery West.

    ABOUT THE ARTIST

Amber Robles-Gordon is a mixed media visual artist with over 15 years of experience using found objects and textiles to create assemblages, large-scale sculptures and installations. Her use of found objects focuses on the need to recycle discarded materials and examine the parallels between humanity and our possessions.
